Fourth Generation Watershed Management 

The State of Minnesota requires watershed organizations to update their management plans at least once every ten years. This proposed Fourth Generation Plan will help guide the Commissioners’ work from 2021-2030. 

Work on this plan update began in January 2020. In addition to the Commissioner’s and technical staff, member cities, agency staff, and lake association members have contributed to its development. The Commission adopted the Fourth Generation Management Plan at their December 17, 2020.

In late 2024 the Commission began updating its Capital Improvement Plan included in the Fourth Generation Plan to add projects (required for grant funding eligibility),.move completed projects and remove projects that were found infeasible, and update project costs and funding partners as necessary.  The Minor Plan Amendment documentation can be found below.
