​Third Generation Watershed Management Plan

On January 28, 2015, the Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) approved the Commission's Third Generation Watershed Management Plan for the period 2015-2020.  On May 21, 2015, the Commission adopted the Plan.  The member cities will have two years from that date to update their Local Water Management Plans to be in conformance with the Commission's Plan.

The approved Plan expires after six years, on December 31, 2020, rather than the full ten years.  The Plan acknowledges that a Major Plan Amendment will likely be needed on completion of the WRAPS to incorporate those findings and actions into the Plan.  The Plan is set up so as to minimize the additional effort required for the Major Plan Amendment and the next Plan update.  Future updates will include revising the budget and CIP tables; updating the water quality trends analysis and land use data; and establishing education and outreach priorities and actions.
