The State of Minnesota requires watershed organizations to update their management plans at least once every ten years. This proposed Fourth Generation Plan will help guide the Commissioners’ work from 2021-2030.
Work on this plan update began in January 2020. In addition to the Commissioner’s and technical staff, member cities, agency staff, and lake association members have contributed to its development. This draft is offered for “informal review” to obtain public input and comments prior to beginning a formal plan review. This informal comment period extends through June 18, 2020. The formal notice and comment period will be open for 60 days from approximately June 22 to August 26, 2020. The Commission will hold a public hearing on the plan at its September 17, 2020 meeting.
In addition to your comments, we ask for your help in spreading the word that the draft plan is available for review. Please consider posting a link to the plan on your website, social media, and other outlets.
